We are sending this letter to you prayerfully, in hopes to get our problem resolved. Ms.
Rachel, we are residents of a beautiful subdivision in Macomb. October 2021, we decided to purchase furniture for our bedroom after not having any for four months. Of course, it was a no brainer to shop and make our selection at Gardner White located at 14055 Hall Rd. in Shelby Township.
As Michiganders, we value the long-standing fact of Gardner White being in existence for over 100 years and we believe in the excellent quality of the furniture you provide for families to purchase.
We bought a bed with a headboard and footboard, an eight-drawer dresser with a mirror, a six-drawer vanity with a mirror, and a mattress. First, we received the bed, mattress, and dresser. We were told that the vanity was on back order. We were okay with that news and figured we would have everything in time for Christmas.
Next, we received the sad news that it would arrive in January. Saddened, we patiently waited. Then we were told we would not receive the rest of the vanity until March. We were starting to get upset; however, we remained patient and even went back to the store to put the nightstands in the layaway that went with the set.
On May 22nd, part of the vanity was delivered. We couldnt understand why only part of the vanity was in stock. The delivery man put the huge box that contained our vanity against the wall of our bedroom because it could not be assembled without all the pieces being there. Even though Ive hit my foot on that large box a few times, I remained patient with the whole situation.
We received another email stating we would have it by mid-July. At that point we went into the store to see if we could speak to a manager. The receptionist was so kind and tried to offer us hope. She was so nice, we paid all but about $130.00 on the balance of the nightstands.
We were hopeful that maybe paying on the layaway would prompt the store to see that we really wanted the entire set. Finally, on July 15th, we received an email that stated we would not get the rest of our order until August 7th.
So, we made a purchase in October and is still waiting on the completed order in July. This makes no sense. Today, Sloan went into the store and asked to speak with a manager to ask for a refund.
He was told that someone would be out on Tuesday to assess the furniture then a decision would be made about a refund. I was hoping and praying that the manager would have looked at the dates of this great inconvenience and disappointment and call every Gardner White on the planet to find our missing items and apologize for our horrible experience. That did not happen.
I am reaching out to you Ms. Rachel because I know as a fourth generation, dedicated to your familys business, this is appalling and unbelievable.
I am in tears as I am writing to you because I cant believe this has been my experience with Gardner White. Please do something Ms.
Rachel. Please address this nightmare.

You say you're going to call you in the morning the night before didn't call I had to. Talk to manager he know nothing. Called corporate they told me that they would give me a $50 gift card lied.

They white glove delivered dirty broken furniture.
I paid for white glove delivery. They delivered dirty pre-built, scratched furniture to my house.
The driver has 28 more deliveries that day and had no room on the truck for returned merchandise.
Garner White glove delivery is a joke compared to Macy's, their customer service is out right rude, the store manager is never available. They will NOT refund the delivery fee of $149.00, additionally they want a 25% restocking fee to return the goods.

I want to return my order
I ordered a special order sectional on 8/11/21. It was delivered on 12/3/21.
The pieces don't line up AND there is no way to connect 2 of the 3 pieces as the cuts in the fabric for the sectional clips that were provided don't line up. Off by several inches. Additionally, the back of 2 of the pieces don't line up and there is a gap. A technician was sent to inspect and assess.
The technician determined that one of the pieces need to be re-ordered. When the new section arrived in May 2022, it was identical (and incorrect) to the first piece. Another appointment was made to talk to a technician on the phone and do a "virtual" inspection/visit at the end of June 2022. This technician indicated that they would send someone out who could connect the pieces underneath, thus negating the connections that are under the cushions.
He also indicated that my floor in my home must be not level and that they would adjust the legs on the furniture to address the second problem of the gap on the back of 2 of the adjoining pieces. My floor is level. This couch was a special order that cost close to $2,800 ( I did by the 4 year warranty). I just want to return this sectional.
I'm being told that there are no returns on special orders.
However, it wasn't what I ordered. I ordered a beautiful sofa/sectional and this is far from it.

bought $5000 worth of furniture in end of oct early november-not financed, it is now june 8th i still havnt seen my dining table chairs. 3 weeks ago i had enough and called and complained, they sent someone out to value my table to see if i could exchange it, it got approved.
Went to the hall road location to look for an exchange and the salesman kevin said dont get a new table we can have your chairs at the house tomorrow. took a day off to make sure id be there for delivery-still have the voicemail saying they would be coming. never showed up. I called and asked for a manager i got lakesha on the phone, she had no idea why he said we would be getting them next day, they arent in stock, must have been a computer error, is there anything else i can do for you?
I said you have done nothing no help and she laughed at me on the phone- Gardner white apparently trains managers to laugh at complaining customers.
I emailed a complaint to corporate exactly 2 weeks ago today, still havnt heard from them. fox 2 problem solvers needs to do a story on this, i see reviews here im not the only one getting lied to, 7 months without chairs at my dining table when the salesman said 1 month.

Purchased this love seat September 17, 2021. Do NOT buy from this company, the products in the store are not what you get delivered.
Our love seat is crooked, center console is crooked and worn on the left, the material is sewn wrong and loose.
The left side is a 1/2 inch taller than the right. I had service out twice they said ALL power furniture is crooked (except for the one in the showroom that was manufactured 1 1/2 years ago) and its normal wear and tear even though we don't sit on that side.
Preferred solution: I would except a price reduction of $1400 off. that's about how much this loveseat is worth at this point or a full refund and they can come pick up the loveseat with NO extra fee for pick up.

Order furniture Sept 12, 2021 and told two to four weeks for delivery. It's Dec 11, 2021 and still waiting for my furniture which I paid for in advance.
They changed the delivery date 8 times. With no real delivery date and now it's after Christmas.
I know there are transportation problems; but be honest with customers. Also, I'd expect some kind of compensation for this inconvenience missing Thanksgiving and Christmas with no furniture.

I bought a sofa and live seat yes I had to wait its the pandemic, after the furniture was delivered the love seat had a spot on it they sent someone out to use some strings Chemical on it. The couch had a tear in it they offered to disassemble the sofa and fix it I said absolutely not this was in The Summer I am yet waiting on a new Sofa. I repeat take your money somewhere else please

Poor service
We ordered a couch, loveseat, chair and lamps from gw in October of 2020. They were delivered Dec 2020 the loveseat recliner mechanism broke in February 2021.
First service appointment was July 2021. Service guy came and ordered parts. Parts came in August 30 2021. Service guy came back to fix, wrong parts,.
New parts ordered and had a service scheduled for mid September. Service never showed up or called. We demanded a new loveseat since service failed. Was told by the end of September we would have a new love seat.
Talked to service department last night 10-18-2021. They said they can't do anything about they are waiting for a warranty department service claim. I called warranty department this morning they have no record of our claim. Gardner white has a terrible service department.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! Go

Never buy from Auburn hills Gardener White !!!
Been trying to get in contact with salesperson Kimberly Tucker for 3 months on couch. Finally couch was delivered and She put wrong info in and put delivery as curbside!
When we called the store they gave run around that theres no manager. Then we finally speak to someone that says they are the manager by the name of Jennifer. But she didnt want to give out her last name, cause she was horrible in her service.
KIMBERLY TUCKER told us that they will come inside apartment and assemble. Thats what we specified!!!!!

Not happy with your protection plan
Chairs started breaking down table wobbly. I called the protection plan they told me its wear and tear. I do not have any small children in fact I live alone what is the purpose of getting a protection plan if you dont honored it

First Kingston Power Recliner lasted less than a year in our home, frame broke. Repair part ordered, paid for, but never received.
Finally, chair completely fell apart. I went to the store, promptly received credit for the repair part/labor that I had prepaid. Asked to purchase a replacement chair as I had purchased the Kingston Couch with original purchase. Delivery was set for the next day (with a hefty delivery charge).
I received numerous confirmations that the chair would be delivered between 1-3pm. Saturday morning (day of delivery), I get a call telling me the chair is not in inventory. Probably 6-8 weeks for the next delivery. Will not sell floor model.
So, now I am stuck with a couch that matches nothing, and no recliner. Both salesman and "Manager" were totally useless, not concerned, and manager was RUDE. The "Manager" that assisted me originally was nothing but an assistant Office Manager.
This store lies repeatedly, takes your money with pleasure, and leaves you hanging. Will never shop here again, will spread the word of this store, and damn well better get my refund timely.

On May 2,2021 I Ordered a living room set and new mattress and asked for nothing to be delivered until they had it all in stock.. They called and set up a delivery date it was in June they said all was in stock at that time.
Day of delivery got everything but 2 end tables I called store 14 mile and Vandyke location I ordered from, and they said end tables would be in next week and ever since then it's been nothing but next week or 2 weeks out. Finally, on September 8th I get a call to set up delivery on my 2 end tables I set it up for today September 12th and all of a sudden they are out of stock
Preferred solution: I wanna talk to someone other then the store manager!

I e ordered a couch in july it's now september and the date has changed 4 times already first july 22, then august then mid september now close to the end of september wtf are they doing.

I am dealing with the same issue with them and their warranty. They won’t stand behind their products and won’t honor their extended warranty. I’ve been dealing with this for months.
They are a ripoff I hate I bought the table and chairs
